Preview: Translate with Google WordPress Plugin (Premium)

What a better way to transform a previous piece of code to something much easier to use for WordPress users. I recently wrote a script for the new Google Translate API which allows you to translate your content with out leaving the site using jQuery and Ajax. Now I am doing the same only with a UI and a more professional way to handle the translation with ease. The plugin allows you to translate your posts right then and there with out leaving the site.

You can select the languages that Google support on there translation service and hit translation. Simply put the content editor in ‘HTML’ mode before translating.

Release date of this plugin will be tweeted so follow me @sebsstudio

Update (27.01.2012) More details on the plugin here.

Custom Setup for WordPress

It’s time for a few screen shots to be shared with you guys of some of the work that I have been doing for my WordPress Online Installer service site.

It is not complete to be put up yet but it is getting there. So far I have the ultimate ‘wp-config.php’ file setup process complete which is the main part of this custom setup process.

The next part is creating the database structure, insert the default values and insert a fake administrator user ‘admin’ as the username set as a subscriber.

My YouTube Videos Plugin v2

Tomb Raider: Official Trailer (E3 2011)

‘My YouTube Videos’ is one of my plugins that I have created and is in need of a bit of an upgrade.

Above is an example of a YouTube video inserted by a shortcode which I am still experimenting with. You can either manually insert a video you like from YouTube or from the menu in the visual editor, you can select one from your account, uploaded or one you have added to your favourites.

This is a new feature that I am inserting into the plugin. This would be version 2 and will not only include this but allow you to view any YouTube video in the sidebar as a popup using lightbox once you click on any of the thumbnails.

Still not sure which one I am going to use and would like your input on the best lightbox plugin (or what others out there are called) to use for this ability that displays videos.

I hope this will be a great upgrade, I know a lot of you have been asking for these features and I hope to bring them to you in the near future.

If you have any other additional ideas that you think would be great to add to my video plugin. I am happy to receive your ideas or suggestions if you leave one below.

Thank you.

You can download the current version of this plugin at WordPress.org here .

Custom Setup for WordPress Online Installer… Coming Soon

I have been working on a custom setup for the online installer. It allows you to customise your ‘wp-config.php’ file. Increase memory, setup trash, autosave and revisions, localized language of the site, enable networking, insert dummy ‘admin’ user, enable debugging mode and more. Even delete the wp-config-sample.php file when it is finished.

It’s not ready just yet but when it is, it will be as an optional setup, so don’t worry you can still install WordPress using the default WordPress setup if you do not wish to use it.

I will also be changing the style of the setup. New colours and logo. I want to keep the structure as it is at the moment because it is simple and easy to read.

In the future I will have the site translated so that the user can view the setup in there language. More news on that soon.

CVPress launching… soon

CVPress Logo

I will be releasing the ‘basic’ version of CVPress soon for free here.

The ‘basic’ version requires only one plugin created by Weston Ruter called User Photo.

This allows the user to upload a picture of themselves and place it on there CV at the top.

The ‘basic’ version only comes with a classic CV template and you are restricted to displaying the order of your education, experiences, skills and more. Customization is also limited. No support is provided. All is presented on one page. Your education and experiences are added using two separate custom post types. Your skills, interests and more are added in the theme options panel.

The ‘Pro’ version will come with support, more customization and various templates and the ability to order your CV content. The ‘Pro’ version will have additional custom post types for your skills, interests and more leaving the the theme options panel for just details about you.

No release date as such but shouldn’t be too far behind after releasing the ‘basic’ version.

That’s it for now.

Ocean Themes Under Construction

Ocean themes is a new website currently under construction that will bring in beautiful, functional & customizable themes for WordPress.

I have a framework that i am building as I posted a few days ago that includes professional SEO and webmaster tools built-in and compatible with many popular plug-ins that will allow the user to control what they want on there theme and that includes widgets built in for the front and the back end of the users setup.

All our designs are compatible with all the modern web browsers like Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer. They will also all be web standards compliant.

Our themes will come packaged with a full width page template without the sidebar, and sitemap/archives page templates for efficient quick links to all the hidden posts you wrote ages ago that still deserve to be seen.

All our themes are built on the same stable Ocean Themes framework. Any modifications are a breeze, while keeping everything all neatly coded for search engine readiness and further theme development.

Ocean Themes comes prepared for translations into your desired language.

Follow us on Twitter if you would like to receive updates for launch of the site and promotional offers for the first themes released.

More information coming soon.

P.S. We are looking for a theme design for the framework that will be set as default if no theme has been selected and we would like you to help. If you are interested in taking part, simply leave a comment below on this post with your name, email, your site address to show us some of your web design work and possibly your Skype name if you have one.

WordPress Online Installer

Most bloggers on the net love using WordPress i know i do and that is why I have been developing a tool to make it easier for people to install WordPress on there servers without having to download WordPress them selves, extract the content and upload it by FTP.

Now I need to make sure that this tool works and even though I have tested it on my own server, I won’t know if it will work outside but I hoping it will. So i am looking for volunteers to test it out and reply back to tell me how it went.

Simply go to my http://www.wponline.sebs-studio.com/ and read the instructions given on the page.

Hope it goes well.

UPDATE 12-08-2010

Got a little feedback from others testing. Currently improving the system by adding FTP connection. FTP connection is working but everything else is stuck at the moment.

Service will be down until I get it 100% working. The concept and the process works just got to get the function to work. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you.

Designing new logo for new social site

One of my projects that I am slowly developing is a better and more secure social messaging system for staying connected in real-time. So far things are coming along great but I have not had much time to spend doing all the coding. I have the first 30% of it complete with some great features that I will explain in the future but right now I am putting up a poll for you all too decide, which color of the logo do you prefer? Your help on choosing the colour will help me colour the default design for the homepage. When you vote please leave your name and twitter username if you have one. Those who leave there name in a comment will be invited to the private beta when it is available. So get voting. Thank you.

P.S. The name of the site may change as I have not got a domain name for it yet.
